Encrypted Database |
Blowfish encryption is used to encrypt the database. The encryption key is created from the login username and password stored as an MD5 hash. To decrypt the database, you would already need to know the username and password and the algorithm used to create the hash. |
Password Field Cipher |
The password field is Ciphered using vigenere Ciphering for added security. |
Automatic Idle Log Out |
The Program automatically logs out and closes the active database session after a predetermined amount of time for added security. (Default 5 minutes) |
Incorrect Login Penalty |
If five incorrect Username / Password combinations are entered in a row, the software is placed into penalty. While in penalty, no additional codes will be processed. If additional codes are entered while in time penalty, the penalty time will disallow access until 15 minutes has passed from the last entry time. |
Tamper Indication |
If Penalty was activated, the next time the software is run, Tamper will be indicated on the login screen. This will be cleared after a valid username and password are input and a successful login is achieved. |
Protected Executable |
The executable is protected from reverse engineering by using code morphing techniques. This added security helps to ensure that another piece of the puzzle for prying eyes is concealed. Even with full source code, the Username and Password used to access the software would need to be known in order to decrypt the database. |
Automatic Database Maintenance |
Should the database become corrupt, due to an incorrect shutdown (power failure, improper removal of thumb drive...) The database is automatically verified and repaired as needed during program startup. |
Portable Installation to removable media (flash thumb drive installation is seamless and simple) |
DPP may be installed to and run from a thumbdrive or other removable read / write media. If you are using the registered release, you will need to register the software for each machine that the software will be run on (at no additional cost). |
Minimize to System Tray |
DPP may be minimized to the system tray or the task bar. Changeable from the settings page. |
Limited Entry Password Trial |
The only difference between the registered release and the unregistered release is the number of entries that can be made in the database. The unregistered release is limited to ten resource entries. There are no nag screens or timed trials. |
Password Generator |
With the unlimited number of password policies, we have included a password generator to cover them all. Upper Case, Lower Case, Mixed Case, Alpha, Alpha / Numeric, Numeric, and Word / Pattern. |
Automatically open file or URL |
A shortcut for URL's or files may be created for quick access to membership items (Web sites, Programs...). |
Hidden Fields |
The Password is only shown when the “Decrypted Password” field is clicked to ensure maximum security (password is shown for six seconds and then concealed). |
Database Backup and Restore |
The database may easily be backed up and restored within a few clicks. All of the database tables are compressed and stored in a single file to keep things simple. |
Cross Platform Compatible |
Daboo Password Protector has been tested and verified on Windows 98, 2000, and XP. It has also been tested and verified on SuSe Linux 9.1 and Knoppix 3.9 using WINE. |
Sorting |
All columns may easily sorted on by clicking on the header for improved navigation. |
Expired Password Tracking |
Keep track of when your passwords will expire. |
Categorization |

Search |

Hide Table |
The table may be hidden so that only one account will be shown at a time. Excellent for high traffic areas so that other people cannot see where you have accounts. |
Automatic Startup |
The application may be configured to automatically start when you log in to your computer. |
Filtering |
The table may be filtered by group using the “Tool Box” filter feature. |
Login Password Automatic Clear |
While logging in, the password field automatically clears after 30 seconds of inactivity as a protective measure. Should you become interrupted during login, someone cannot come over and click the submit button to login. |
| Login Hint |
If your password is forgotten, from the login screen you can right click and select “Login Hint”. If a hint has been entered into the settings, it is now available as a reminder. |
